• No one really ever gets over grief
    It’s there to stay
    Like a constant reminder
No one really ever gets over loss of a loved one
Grief, like a friend will always be there
    Ever showing up unexpectedly
    Like a nagging friend
It’ll always be there wherever you are
    Shows up anytime
Sometimes unexpectedly and regardless of what you’re feeling
Always there to embrace and engulf your soul like a possessive partner
It’s always there to remind us of how much the person meant to us
It’s like a shadow, disappears and appears like it never left
    Like a lifetime partner
    Till death do you part
It’s there to coexist with you
    It’s like the stars
They never go away even when the night’s over
And because it never leaves don’t tell someone to get over a loss
Grief never leaves, people only learn to live with it

  • For the pessimist I’ve always been
For all the times I felt intimidated by society
For the many times I told the person in the mirror she’s ugly
For the million times I let them strip you naked of your confidence
For the times I allowed them to see a misfit
For the million times I let overthinking caress me, seducing me and making me a whore of my own thoughts
For the times I felt imperfect
For the many times I punched my potential and hid it in the depths of my heart because it tried to break loose
Dear self, for all the times I did injustice to you by listening to society, I am sorry
Dear self I am sorry because even as I write I I’m still a prisoner of what people think

  • Every moment is a fresh  beginning
To write off all the wrongs
To shut that window in your soul
    That lets in negativity
To carve out the best version of you
    Every morning is a blessing
    To perfect those imperfections
    Every day is a chance
    To try again
    To try harder
    To find yourself
    With each day
Comes a chance to be in harmony with yourself
    Every moment
    Every day
    Every time
    Try again,harder

  • We all want to experience the good side of life
I want to see fantasy become reality
I want to see the Nova of the little stars high up in the sky
I want to experience serenity in the cold breeze of the night
I want to race with time and see where it takes me
I wouldn’t mind a little peep into the future
I’d love to experience life in another universe parallel from ours
I want to run the race of life at my own pace
I’d love to go to space
I want to see the moon and the stars paint the skies in wonderful glows
I’d love to see shooting stars sliding across a gay sky
Everyday I pray the sun comes up because we all need light so we can see our dreams

  • He singled her out in the crowd
    Not that she stood out
But because she wore this big glasses
Or rather the glasses wore her
    Okay,maybe she stood out
He singled her out because he thought or rather wished she was single just like he
    She looked like a doctor
    Or so he thought
    He approached her
    Asked her name
    Her name,he thought,sounded like a beautiful song
Or maybe a melody, he wasn’t sure which
    Asked her what she does
    She said a poet
He wanted to tell her he’s a painter
But was afraid she won’t let him paint her life with love
Wanted to say a singer but he wasn’t sure if she’ll dance to his tune
That’s if she dances at all
If she’ll listen to his rhythm and maybe blues
Finally he told her he’s a swimmer
Because all that time he stared at her
He was swimming in the thought that maybe they could be something
    Just maybe
A swimmer because he drowned in her eyes
Beautiful blue eyes. Just like the sea
    A poor swimmer,she joked
He remembered reading some poet’s work, the name same as hers
Remembered how those poems healed his heart
Asked her if they were hers and she said yes
Aah!  No wonder he thought her a doctor
He confessed how he loved her poems
She told him, with a sweet smile
Her husband helped her write them珞

  • They told me to look at the mirror
Said that’s where I’ll find my competitor
    Or rather my motivation
Or rather a reason not to give up
But why did  the mirror mock me
Why did it stare back so coldly
Two cold eyes and a face so tired stared back
And was that a tear too?

  • You see my heart had pages
Yes miles and miles of empty pages that I offered  to you to write on
You took the offer and inked it pretty well
All the happy memories you printed them in bold on the pages
The sad days and sleepless nights are well inked in my heart so trust me I can’t forget  the dark days we both endured
The day you said you can’t live without me, believe me you inked that pretty deep
I gave you my heart so you can write all our experiences
    You wrote everything
But now none of it is left
Maybe a little trace here and there that I intend to clear
    A blurry trace maybe
    Or maybe a meaningless doodle
You left me with loads of filled pages
Filled with tonnes of fake promises that I should have known meant nothing to you
Forgive my bad for putting my heart first and throwing my mind away
Now I’m all alone with a bleeding heart, poor and lonely
You see when you left I had to tear down the pages
The pages had to be done away  with regardless of the pain and the bleeding.
You left many pages blank but nobody’s going to finish them
I closed the chapter you left hanging and yearning for more ink
I closed it and tore all of it down
They are all a memory now
A hazy memory that I keep locked in the drawers at the back of my mind
